Advising

A Terry Stinger bronze artwork from 1986 installed in a client’s home

An insider’s perspective

As a part of the art installation service, I am happy to provide collectors with art guidance and recommendations. As a practicing artist and experienced art installer, I am in a unique position to offer the following advice to clients:

  • Art collection/purchase advice.

  • Visual advice as to the artwork’s placement.

Perhaps you have an idea of a type of artwork that you’d like for your home, but are unsure of which avenues to pursue to find the right one. I have a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary Aotearoa art and artists, and close associations with many dealer gallerists nationwide. I’m well connected and familiar with the practices of dozens of emerging and established artists across the country and abroad.

Having hung many exhibitions for galleries over the years, as well as artworks in the home, I have formed a keen sense of where art can look it’s best. I can offer a satisfying compromise between functionality and sheer visual impact in an artwork’s placement. If you’re already set on the exact spot for an item to be installed, I can help fine tune that placement.
